A Grateful Goodbye to Neepsend

Last week, I taught my final class at Neepsend—and my heart was full. A mix of gratitude, nostalgia, and quiet excitement for what lies ahead.

It’s been quite a journey. From a curious student on the mat to a fully qualified yoga teacher, the path has been both humbling and deeply fulfilling. I'm proud to have earned my diploma with the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY)—the highest yoga teaching qualification in the UK. More recently, I completed my Children and Teens Yoga Teacher Training, also with the BWY—another step on this unfolding path.

Our first class began in a lovely space on North Church Street, within LR Podiatry. It was warm, welcoming, and full of potential. As their clinic grew and the space was converted into treatment rooms, it was time to move on.

Next came the Briery Room at Kelham Island Museum. The floor was cold, and the heat never quite stayed in—but the heart in that space made up for it. It’s where I began to truly find my voice as a teacher. Your support in that room—your kind words, presence, and patience—helped carry me through the final stages of my diploma. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. (And yes, thank you for braving those chilly evenings with me!)

Eventually, the table tennis club needed the space, and after a short pause, we found a new home at the Neepsend Sports and Social Club. This chapter has been filled with laughter, learning, and growth—for all of us.

To watch your practice unfold, your confidence deepen, and to receive your encouragement along the way… you’ve helped shape the teacher I am today.

As I move into the next part of the journey, I do so with curiosity, hope, and immense gratitude. You can keep up with my next steps on my blog posts.

I'll continue offering online classes, and as several of you have asked, I’m exploring the possibility of a new online group class—so watch this space. I’d love to stay connected.

Namaste,
Gill 🧘‍♀️✨
